DAN HOWARD Mr. Williamson was born on March 29, 1932, in the Shady Grove Community of Neshoba County, to the late Henry Jones and Carrie Williamson.  At age 16, he moved with his parents from the Shady Grove Community to Decatur, MS.  He graduated from Decatur High School and East Central Community College.  He received his B.S. and M.S. from Mississippi State University.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, spending nineteen months overseas.  He was a member of the American Legion.  He was a lifetime Methodist.  At the time of his death he was a member of First United Methodist Church of Philadelphia, where he has served as Sunday School teacher as well as on other committees.  His heart was in promoting Missions.   Shelby's life was service to the Livestock and Poultry Industry.  He retired from the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999.   Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister and three brothers, Johnnie Roy, Charles, and Dolphus.   He is survived by his wife, Clarice; daughters, Carrie Jackson of Starkville, MS and Camille Gordon of Maben, MS; step-son, Eddie Smith of Philadelphia, MS; ten grandchildren; and sister, LaVerne Elsesser of Jackson, MS.Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
