Johnnie Virginia Booker

Oct 11, 1933 — Feb 19, 2011

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.  So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me". A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands now rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us, he took the very best.   Mrs. Booker, 77, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Infinity Hospice LLC in Marion, MS.   She was born and reared in Kemper County where she made her home all of her life.  Mrs. Booker was a member of Herbert Baptist Church.   Survivors include her son, William Lindsey Cumberland of Collinsville; sister, Edna Mae Ward and special brother-in-law, Riley (poppy) Ward of Meridian; brother, William Wesley Stevens of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her father, John Lindsey Stevens; mother, Mavis Clair Alday Stevens; brothers, Tommy "Bo" Stevens and Chalmers R.Stevens; and granddaughter, Samantha Cumberland Thornton.
