JIMMY TOWNSEND   Mrs. Smith, 87, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Bedford Care Center of Marion.   She was a native of Jackson County, North Carolina and a longtime resident of Neshoba County.  She was retired from Garan in Philadelphia.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.    Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Lynch and her husband, Joe of Meridian; son, Kenneth Lavan Smith and his wife, Jean of Philadelphia; grandson, Michael Smith of Meridian; step-grandson, Joe Lynch, II of Houston, TX; great-grandson, Gage Smith of Collins; sister, Geraldine Berry and her husband, William A. of Franklin, NC; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.   She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Nell Smith and parents, John and Violet Evitt.
