SCOTT BOATNER Mr. Schlegel, 86, died Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence.                                                                      He was a native of Shamokin, PA but had lived in Neshoba County for the past 33 years.  He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army, serving  during World War II where he was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart.  Mr. Schlegel was Methodist by faith and also a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Emma Jeane Schlegel of Philadelphia; sons, Thomas Matthew Schlegel, Jr. of Shelby, MI, Gregory Schlegel of Meridian, Jeffery Schlegel, Steven Schlegel and Justyn Schlegel, all of Philadelphia;15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanette Glowa of San Luis Obispo, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Schlegel; sisters, Betty Brecker and Donna Stitley.
