JERRY LUNDYMr. Stokes, 76, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in Forest, MS.He was a native of Nanih Waiya in Winston County.  He attended Prince Chapel School.  He worked 21 years for Houston Belt Terminal Railway Company in Houston, Texas.  After retiring, he returned back to Nanih Waiya and became fire chief of Nanih Waiya Volunteer Fire Department where he served for 25 years.  He also worked at Winston Medical Center for seven years as night security guard.  He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.Survivors include his wife, Ilene Stokes of Nanih Waiya; daughters, Donna Bradshaw of Polkville, Sandy Nowell of Harperville, Rita Herman of Louisville, Debbie Pope of Atlanta, GA and Shelby Haesche of Houston, TX;  sons, Sherlon Stokes of Atlanta, GA and Timmy Stokes of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Taylor Turman, Luke Bradshaw, Dustin Herman, Megan Herman, John Pope IV, Jennifer Brannon, William Stokes, Isabella Stokes, Sofie Stokes, Shiralyn Haesche, Breanne Haeshce, Kristina Haesche and Karlie Haesche;  great-grandchild, Averie Neal;  sisters, Mattie Sue Green of Nanih Waiya and Barbara Lyn Davis of West Palm Beach, FL;  brothers, Terry Stokes of Nanih Waiya and Delano Stokes of Preston.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Valley Stokes and three brothers.Pallbearers were Pat Sullivan, David Sullivan, Michael Evans, Mike Stevenson, Cliff Luke, Pat Robbins, Clarence Goodin and Joe Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers were the Nanih Waiya Volunteer Fire Department.
