RAY LUKEMrs. Luke, 83, of Philadelphia, MS, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Choctaw Residential Center. She was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of the Bond community. She was a longtime employee of Wells-Lamont where she worked as an inspector. Mrs. Luke was a member of North Bend United Methodist Church where she was a choir member and loved her church family. She loved to bake cakes for many in the community, pound and caramel her specialties. She enjoyed sewing and fishing. Survivors include her daughter, Jan Goldman (Ricky) and daughter-in-law, Gayle Luke, all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Richard Goldman (Erin), Lauren Luke and Melissa Luke, all of Philadelphia; sisters-in-law, Sue Lewis of Philadelphia, Nellie McKay of Atmore, AL, Marguerite Burt of Flint, MI; brother-in-law, Royce Luke (Rose Marie) of Gautier and several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Luke was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Luke; son, Dr. James Neal Luke; brothers, Kermit “Tom” Burt and Albert M. Burt and parents, Lem and Winnie Burt.Pallbearers were David Burt, David Gunn, Norman Coats, Dr. Duane Stokes, Louis McWilliams and Blake Vanderford. Honorary pallbearers were men of North Bend United Methodist Church.
