Strum, 61, of Andover, Kansas, died Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. He was a native of Philadelphia, Mississippi, where he graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1972. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1977, and then received his commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, during which time he received a Master of Arts in Information Technology Management from Webster University. He retired as a Colonel after 27 years of service. He then worked for the Veterans Administration as Director of Pharmacy for 10 years, during which time he received a Master of Theology from Liberty Baptist University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Col. Strum was a member of First Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi. Survivors include his wife, Pam Pettit Strum of Andover, Kansas; sons, Brad Strum of Arlington, Virginia; Ryan Strum (Teresa) and their four children, Brayden, Avery, Katelyn and Ethan of Wichita, Kansas; John Strum (Rachel) and their daughter, Emma of Sacramento, California; and Matt Strum (Jolin) of Seattle, Washington; and brother, Dr. Mark Strum (Lori) of Clinton, Mississippi. Col. Strum was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Louise Strum and sister, Sherry May (Tom).Military will serve as pallbearers.
