MACK ALFORD Mrs. Johnson, 73, of Philadelphia, MS, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia. She was born and reared in the Vardaman community of Kemper County, made her home in Philadelphia for a number of years, then made her home in the Johnsonville community of Neshoba County for 15 years.  Mrs. Johnson was a member and the organist of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She retired from The Citizens Bank in Philadelphia after 40 years of service. Survivors include her husband, Allen Johnson of Philadelphia; daughter, Carol Pettigrew (Neil) of Philadelphia; son, Steve Johnson (Peggy) of DeKalb; grandsons, Jesse Pettigrew, Luke Pettigrew, and granddaughter, Jessica Kendrick, all of Philadelphia; mother, Ruby Dean Gray and brother, Billy Gray (Charlotte), all of Philadelphia. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Levi “Shine” Gray.
