JACK FOSTERMr. Smith, 80, of Union, MS, died Friday, July 31, 2015, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Greenland community of Newton County. He was owner of Smith Implement Company and worked at U.S. Motors for many years. Mr. Smith was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Philadelphia. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty Smith of Union; daughter, Rita Watkins (Gary, Jr.) of Philadelphia; son, Danny M. Smith (Tracy) of Union; grandchildren, Kimberly Watkins of Philadelphia, Cody M. Smith, of Union, and stepgrandson, Raimey Gryner of Union; sister, Clairee Chisolm of Union, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Stevie Smith, Jimmy Smith, Brian Chisolm, Morris Johnson, Jeremy Belk, and Freddie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Evans, Guy Kennedy, Stanley Tolbert, Leon Myers, Melvin Wolverton, Willard Benson, and J. W. Cooksey.
