DAN HOWARD Charles Monroe Harrison, 92 years old, of Forest, MS passed away on December 26, 2015 at his home in Forest, MS with his family by his side. Charles was born on February 23, 1923 and raised in the Coldwater community, outside of Philadelphia, MS by his parents John Barden Harrison and Sarah Malcolm Smith Harrison. He was a proud World War II veteran, and fought for his country overseas in France and Germany and in the Battle of the Bulge. Shortly after returning home, Charles met and married his wife of 69 years, Margie Jewel Lewis of Madden, MS. They were blessed with six children, who were the center of their life. He was a successful businessman, who owned and operated the Western Auto, along with his wife, in Forest, MS for 21 years until his retirement in 1987. He loved to travel, and would take the whole family on trips as a hobby. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margie, and children Sarah Elam (Bill) of Brandon, Brenda McNeil (Jerry) of Brandon, Charlotte Cochran (Bubba) of Forest, Deborah Rushing (Johnny) of Morton, Pat Harrison of Forest, and Mary Charles Dickens (Britt) of Clinton. He was a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren Matthew McNeil of Brandon, Sarah McNeil Tadlock of Brandon, Jessie and Sam Cochran of Newton, and Harrison and Kate Dickens of Clinton. He was also a great-grandfather to Jericho Stamatis of Madison. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, and grandson, Scott Elam. Pallbearers were Matthew McNeil, Sean Tadlock, Harrison Dickens, Sam Cochran, Bubba Cochran and Dave Woods.
