VERNELL DANIELSREV. CHRIS YOUNGMr. Edwards, 66, of Philadelphia, MS, died Thursday, December 31, 2015, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. He was a native of the Fork community in Neshoba County and a longtime resident of the Forestdale community later moving back to the Fork community in 2009. He worked 32 years for Weyerhaeuser Company both in Philadelphia and Columbus. He worked as a land/timber buyer and also as a powerhouse utility technician in Columbus. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, and also attended Henry’s Chapel United Methodist Church. His interests were horses, blue grass music, square dancing, traveling, and camping. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Edwards of Philadelphia; two children; five grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters and their spouses; numerous nephews, nieces, and their families; mother-in-law, Florence Gray Bates; aunt, Dot Barnes and a host of friends. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his parents, J. V. and Lizzie Edwards; father-in-law, Ethel Gray, and stepfather-in-law, Harold Bates.Pallbearers were Randy Haynes, Mike Thomas, Redus Sisson, Brent Gray, Gary Benson, Bob Benson and Johnny Wilcher. Honorary pallbearers were Dale Beasly, Ronnie Long, Donnie Long, Felix Butler and Gene Johnson. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or your favorite charity.
