LEN WEDGEWORTH Mr. William Edward "Butch" Townsend, 75, of Union, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at home. He was a native of Lauderdale County and lived in Southern Georgia most of his life.  He had made his home in Neshoba County for the past three years.  He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic. Mr. Townsend was a member of Bascomb Masonic Lodge #363 in Hodges, South Carolina. Survivors include his sisters, Pauline Reid of Meridian and Wilma Jean Popwell (Mike) of Hortense, Georgia; brothers, Harvey C. Townsend (Nancy) of Union, Robert Townsend (Karen) of Clinton and Wayne Townsend of Union; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Townsend was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Patricia Faye Coker and Macy Jeanette Marshall; and brother, Roy Alvin Townsend, Jr. Pallbearers are Ricky Townsend, Wayne Walley, Ridge Walley, Chris Rhine, Mike Rhine and Ethan Pickett.
