WAYNE HILL Mr. Sistrunk, 84, of Philadelphia, MS, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at The Arbors in Ridgeland. He was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime Philadelphia resident. Mr. Sistrunk retired from Philadelphia Utilities after working there 36 years as the Superintendent of Water Operations. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Philadelphia Masonic Lodge No. 93 for 47 years, and the Neshoba County Shrine Club. He did volunteer work with the Shrine Club and Neshoba Baptist Center. He and his wife received Volunteers of the Year Award in 2011 from the Baptist Center. He loved bluegrass music, camping and fishing Survivors include daughters, Joyce S. Bicker of Byram, Judy S. Bates (Jim) of Philadelphia and Jane S. Thomas (Steve) of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Suzanne Robertson, Jimmy Bicker, Sarah Hudson, Jennifer Gressett, Jeremy Thomas, Steven Thomas II and Rachel Thomas; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way; one brother, Charles Sistrunk and three sisters, Cecile Green, Margie Comans and Onnie Babb; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Sistrunk was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Sistrunk; grandchild, Rebekah Lynn Blunt; great-grandchild, Britton Burkes Hudson; three brothers, J.B. Sistrunk, Junior Sistrunk and Vinton Sistrunk; four sisters, Mildred Sistrunk, Ruth Watkins, Ella Grace Roberts and Annie M. Gardner. Pallbearers were Steven Thomas II, Dwight Sistrunk, Jimmy Bicker, Mickey Robertson, Brad Gressett and Jeremy Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Philadelphia Masonic Lodge No. 93.
