MARK CLOYS Mrs. Walker, 92, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Atwood Personal Care Home in Philadelphia. She was a native of the Spring Creek Community of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Arlington Community. She was formerly employed with J. C. Penney and Sears and operated Montgomery Ward stores with her husband in Carthage and Philadelphia. She later worked and retired from Central Electric Power Association in Philadelphia. Mrs. Walker was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church and was a former Sunday School teacher and WMU member. Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Moore of Philadelphia; sons, Larry Walker (Dianna) of Philadelphia and Gary Walker (Sandra) of Clinton, MS; grandchildren, Tina Bullock, Scott Walker, Matt McLemore, Steven Elmore, Crystal Jolley, Nicole Register, Jody Walker and Keith Moore; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Barnett of DeKalb, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, William Lamar Walker; parents, Wilson and Sadie Barnett; sisters, Hilda Barnett, Effie Mae “Pete” Talley, Dorothy Kirby, Rebecca Barnett, Mary Steel and Kitty Mowdy; brothers, E. G. “Hop” Barnett and Rev. Charles Barnett. Pallbearers were be Scott Walker, Brandon Walker, Jody Walker, Wes Register, Steven Elmore, Matt McLemore and David Bullock. In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to charity of choice.
