CLAY WINSTEADCatherine White died December 29, 2016, at her home in Philadelphia, MS, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 23, 1929, in the Neshoba Community to James Allen and Sarah Alma Boler. Catherine was a loving and supportive Christian mother and wife. She was a faithful member of Coldwater Baptist Church for 49 years, where she taught Sunday School and worked in the nursery, as well as being a choir member and Bible Drill Leader. Her first job was at Newton Pants Factory where she worked several years until she stayed at home to raise two daughters. After her daughters graduated high school she spent 10 years as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant/Caregiver at Neshoba County Nursing Home. Catherine left the nursing home to begin her next venture as a babysitter for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening. Not only were vegetables enjoyed, but her love of flowers was evident in the vast abundance of blooms enjoyed by family, friends and passersby. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Willis H. White; two daughters, Pam White Shipley of Hattiesburg; Deborah Ladd (Randy) of Philadelphia; one granddaughter, Allison Willis; and two great-granddaughters, Halli Willis and Bri Peters; one brother, Gary P. Boler (Beatrice) of Union; and a host of nieces and nephews and their families. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Clifford, Clois, Colen, Omer, Roy and Theron Boler; three sisters, Cleora Myrick, Myrtle Smith and Oleta Hardin; one grandson, Sgt. Joshua Shane Ladd (killed in action in Iraq 2004). Pallbearers were Ricky Boler, Baron Posey, Jr., Allen White, Joey Hancock, Edward James and Paul Smith.
