ERIC EMBREY Miss Jeanette Whitten, 70, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. She was a native and longtime resident of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Neshoba Central, where she later worked in the cafeteria for over 30 years. Her hobbies included taking care of others before herself and any sports the Rockets played. Miss Whitten was a member of Dixon Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Gale Carmichael of Enterprise; aunt, Linda Kelly of Philadelphia; uncle, J. W. Winstead (Gladys) of Philadelphia; nieces, Summer Ward, Beverly Knight, Mignon Edmuns, Emily Kelly and Katelyn Carmichael; nephews, Dale Carmichael II and Dylan Carmichael; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Miss Whitten was preceded in death by her parents, George and Opal Winstead Whitten, Jr.Pallbearers are Dylan Carmichael, Chris Kelly, James Kelly, Alan Kelly and Davey Meadow. Honorary pallbearers are Katie Carmichael, Emily Kelly and Larry Winstead.
