RANDY CALDWELLREV. CHRIS GULLYFATHER AUGUSTINE PALIMATTAM Mrs. Betty Eldridge Henson, 83, of DeKalb, died Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at her home. She was a native of Kemper and longtime resident of the Cleveland Community. She was a retired Chancery Clerk of Kemper County serving four terms. Mrs. Henson was a member of Vardaman Baptist and Mellen Methodist churches in Kemper. Her main focus and joy were her family, children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Kay Eldridge Holland (Tommy) of Philadelphia; son, “Tommy” James Thomas Eldridge (Shannon) of Hernando; grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth Holland, Tyler James Holland, Kennedy Claire Eldridge, Emory Kate Eldridge; sister, Annie Elizabeth Thornton of DeKalb; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her husbands, James Grady Eldridge and Harvey N. Henson; son, James Daniel “Danny” Eldridge; parents, Doug and Farrah Thomas; and two brothers, Bill Thomas and Jimmy Thomas.Pallbearers were Bob Henson, Wayne Henson, George Terry Sciple, Martin Hubbard Eldridge, Jimmy Buchanan, Conner Buchanan, Glenn Thomas and Kenneth Thomas.
