DWIGHT FAULKENBERY Mr. Herrington, 89, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Beehive Homes of Philadelphia. He was a native of Greenland Community of Newton County and longtime resident of Philadelphia, MS. He retired from the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad where he had served as the final station agent at the Philadelphia Depot. In 1963 he also established and owned H & H Restaurant and H & H Grocery in Philadelphia. Mr. Herrington was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church where he was a longtime Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a member of Gideons International. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Christine Herrington of Philadelphia; two sons, Wayne Herrington of Meridian and David Herrington (Judy) of Carthage; three grandchildren, Christen Buckley (Allen), Lauren Henderson (Alan) and Conner Herrington (Julie); four great-grandchildren, Anna Grace and Caroline Buckley, Anne Claire and Ella Henderson; and brother, Haskell Herrington (Robbie) of Laurel, MS. Mr. Herrington was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Charlotte Herrington; and brother, Charles.Pallbearers are Keith Gaines, James Thomas, Max Chisolm, Mike Skinner, Wayne Goldman, Pruitt Willis, Jerry Brantley and Hoyt Payne.In lieu of flowers family requests memorials be made to Gideons International.
