MCCLAIN-HAYS FUNERAL HOME Mr. Mason, 105, of Houston, TX died March 20, 2017 at University Place Assisted Living in Houston, TX. He was born September 25, 1911, in the McDonald community of Neshoba County. He was the son of the late Hugh S. Mason and Ola Cooper Mason. He graduated Neshoba High School, Neshoba, MS in 1931 and attended East Central Community College in Decatur, MS from 1931-1932. He was a longtime resident of Houston, TX and was employed 42 years with Exxon Pipeline Company. He retired in 1976 as Division Chief Clerk, Northeast Texas Division, Longview, TX. He served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II. He was an endowed member and Senior Past Master of League City Masonic Lodge #1053 in League City, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Roberts Mason in 1983; two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
