Gertrude Bounds Johnson

Services for Gertrude Bounds Johnson were held Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from McClain-Hays Chapel with interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.  Mrs. Johnson, 93, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia. She was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of the Johnsonville Community. She was a retired garment inspector from the Shirt Factory in Union. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Bettie Cook (Mike) of Philadelphia, Linda Sue Powell (Henry) of Brandon and Sandra Warren (Joe) of DeKalb; sons, James "Jimmy" Johnson (Dorothy) of Brandon, Allen Wesley Johnson (Mary Ann) of Philadelphia and Billy Wayne Johnson (Diane) of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lee Johnson; granddaughter, Gina Powell; sisters, Maggie Eldridge, Trudie Dunn Watkins; brothers, Corbit, Melton, Sylvester and Carlie Bounds.
