Thompson, 55, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Laird Hospital in Union.   He was a native and long time resident of the Neshoba Community of Neshoba County.  He had performed factory maintenance work for several years.  He was a member of Linwood Volunteer Fire Department.  Mr. Thompson was a member of Neshoba Baptist Church.   He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney W. Thompson, Sr.; stepfather, F. C. Foster; brothers, Willie Roy Rhodes and Billy Thompson, Sr.   Survivors include his mother, Hazel Foster of Union; brothers, Joe Thompson and his wife, Kay of Germantown, TN; Mike Thompson of Union, Sidney Thompson of Little Rock, AR; a number of nieces, nephews and their families and the extended family of Brotherhood of Volunteer Fire Fighters.
