TIM VOWELLINTERMENT:  SANDTOWN CEMETERY Mr.  Ray Burton, 77, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at home.   He was a native and long time resident of the Sandtown Community of Neshoba County.  He was former owner/operator of Burton's Grocery and was a farmer.  Mr. Burton was a member of North Bend United Pentecostal Church.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea.   He was preceded in death by an infant son, Eddie Ray Burton; parents, Henry Tom and Ethel Mae Burton; and brothers, Tommy Wayne Burton, Clifton Burton, and John Riley Burton.   Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Burton of Philadelphia; daughters, Melanie Benson and husband, Rusty of Philadelphia, and Raye Carol Eakes and husband, Dobie of Philadelphia; son, Shawn Burton and wife, Melanie of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Caleb and Brittany Benson, Cody, Colton, Clover, and Coleman Eakes, Corey, Ayla, and Aza Burton; sister, Dorothy Nelson of Metairie, LA; brothers, Rev. Charles Burton of Crystal Springs, Harbour Burton of Metairie, LA, Rev. Leon Burton of Cochran, Rev. Gail Burton of Cochran, and Roland Burton of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.
