GENE HIGGINBOTHAM Ms. Vines, a long term resident of Baton Rouge, LA and native of Kosciusko, MS died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA.  She was 82.  She was surrounded by loving friends throughout her life and at her passing.   Gladys Vines was born on August 4, 1928 to parents, Annie Smith and Elmer Vines.  She was a beautiful and courageous lady who inspired others around her.  She touched many lives with her loving gratitude and appreciation as well as her fierce independence and determination.  She loved life, freedom and spicy foods.  She will be greatly missed by her loving friends, relatives, health care professionals, and neighbors.   She is survived by nephews, Jimmy Vines of Vicksburg, MS, Lloyd Vines and wife, Jeanne of San Antonio, TX, George Vines and wife, Dale of Hermitage, TN, John Etheridge and wife, Debby of Hayden, AL; and nieces, Rita and Martha of Memphis, TN.   She was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Lloyd, Mills and Shelby; and sisters, Lola and Elsie.
