Arnita Logan

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00 am from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Phillip Rowland and Chaplain Rob Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 pm at McClain-Hays.

Mrs. Logan, 97, passed away on May 13, 2026 at Neshoba General Hospital.

Ms. Arnita was born and raised in Neshoba County to Johnny Phillips Sr. and Kate Hill Phillips. She attended and graduated as salutatorian at Zephyr Hill School. After school, she later transitioned to the work force as manager of the Chicken Basket where she retired after a number of years. She enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader. Her special pet Oscar was the apple of her eye. Arnita was a long-time member and piano player at Black Jack Baptist Church and later a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.

She is survived by her son; Del Logan (Charlotte), grandchildren; Clint Logan, Casey Murphy and Corey Logan (Tonya), great-grandchildren; Peyton Logan, Donavan Murphy, Logan Murphy and Maxwell Logan, brothers; Frank Phillips , Thomas Phillips (Theresa)  and Jerry Phillips (Becky) , brother-in-law; James Logan (Francis), along with several nieces, nephews, friends and their families.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Clifford Logan, son; Johnny Logan, sisters; Isalene Grant, Janelle Smith and Dorothy Phillips, brothers; Arthur Phillips, Johnny Phillips, Jr. and Charlie Phillips, parents; Johnny Phillips Sr. and Kate Hill Phillips.

Pallbearers will be Donavan Murphy, Logan Murphy, B.J. Benkovsky, Matt Benkovsky, Brian Pendergrass and Ethan Pendergrass.

Honorary Pallbearers are Ed Williamson, Peyton Logan, D.D. Rushing and Dylan Kennedy.
