Funeral Services for Aubrey Allen Copeland will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Michael Wells and Bro. Lawrence Pool officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
Aubrey Copeland, 84, of Philadelphia passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Aubrey was born and raised in Neshoba County to Dennis and Mae Lundy Copeland. He was in the first graduating class of 1960 at Neshoba Central. He attended ECJC and Mississippi State University. Aubrey worked as a bridge inspector for 42 years with MDOT where he retired. He loved gardening, especially his tomatoes, working his cows and taking care of his farm. He enjoyed antique cars and cruising the coast. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren and he will be missed by all. Mr. Copeland was a longtime member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gail Copeland; daughter, Tammy Smith (Richard); granddaughters, Cady Alexander (Garrett), Marla Volking (Hunter); great-grandchildren, Aubree Alexander, Colton Alexander, Paisley Volking, Cooper Volking and Beau Volking; several friends and extended family.
Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Mae Lundy Copeland; brother, Winfred Copeland.
Pallbearers: Hunter Volking, Garrett Alexander, Richard Joiner, James Fulton, John Lilley, Mike Robertson and David Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers: Keith Fulton, John Stokes, Ricky Russell, Tim Clark, Richard William Watson, Will Watson, Randy Mays, Joe Peebles, Terry Fleming, Eric Weaver, Bob Baskin, Michael Anthony, Joey Wilcher, Rufus Nunn, John Vance, Jeff Seward and Ronnie Mitchell.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to Quality Hospice, especially Ella Grace Robertson, Catina Porter, Lucy Keith, Amy Pilgrim and Rose Lamb for their wonderful care and compassion. Also, a thank you to Centerwell Home Health for the care of their loved one.
In lieu of flowers the family would like all memorials to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
