Bobbie Smith Jenkins

Graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from Tucker Community Cemetery in Kemper County. Bro. Steve Craft and Bro. Justin Craft will officiate. 

Mrs. Jenkins, 86, died peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Mrs. Bobbie was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was born and raised in Kemper County and graduated from DeKalb High School in 1958. She loved playing basketball and played throughout high school and later in an independent league. Bobbie loved riding horses with her husband in their younger days. She also loved spending time in her yard and planting new flowers. Above all, she was a devoted family woman who cherished spending time with her loved ones.

Mrs. Bobbie was a member of Spanish Oak Church in Kemper County, and attended Trinity Baptist Church in Philadelphia.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Jenkins Watkins (Don); grandson, Brian Powe; step-grandson, Nick Watkins (Desiree); step-granddaughters, Alexis Coker, and Natalie Bullard (Johnathan); six step-great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Smith McKee (Boyd); and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles Jenkins; her parents, William “Dub” Smith and Corene Rodgers Smith; and her brother, James William Smith.

Pallbearers will be Boyd McKee, Reece Craft, Ray Smith, Randy Smith, Ben Stovall, and Stan Stewart.
