Doris Williams Mott

Doris Williams Mott, age 98, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 5, 2026. Doris was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend who leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Virgie Williams; six siblings; her husband of 57 years, A.D. Mott; her children, Brenda Mott and Raymond Mott; and her grandson, Derrick Mott. She is survived by her daughters, Rita (Henry) Chandler and Geneva Murray; her grandchildren, Josh (Heather) Chandler, Rae (Jason) Adcock, Matthew (Wendy) Murray, and Eric (Kelly) Murray; fourteen great-grandchildren; and her sister, Elizabeth Owens of Brandon, Mississippi.

Doris was a devoted member of Union Hill Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended Sunday School and enjoyed being part of the Joy Group. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron. Doris found great joy in sewing, quilting, canning fresh vegetables and cooking for her family.
