Edna was born and raised in Neshoba County to John Ed and Edna Pearl Sullivan Smith. She attended Linwood School and later graduated from Neshoba Central High School. She worked many years at Midland Shirt Company and later KFC, where she retired. After retirement she became a full-time homemaker, where she spent many days building forts and making biscuits at 2:00 am with the grandchildren. Edna also enjoyed tending to her flowers. She loved her three children more than anything and always wanted them together. She looked forward to a ride to anywhere someone would take her. She was always down for a trip to Walmart or out to eat, and of course dessert before going home. In more recent months she looked forward to the ice cream sandwiches on Sunday afternoon, her corndogs and chicken could wait because her ice cream would melt. Even if the trip was a doctor’s appointment, she looked forward to the lunch out. Edna was a long-time member of Enon Baptist Church.
