Edward Earl Petty

April 24, 1945 — November 13, 2023

Services will be held on Thursday November 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Reverend Mike Sullivan officiating. Visitation will held on Wednesday November 15, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays. Interment will be in the Coy Assembly Cemetery. Edward was born and raised in Neshoba County, MS.. He attended the old East Neshoba School. He worked off-shore for several years, later returned home to make syrup with Larry Miles, and sold produce in Union at the 4-way and made many friends through the years. Edward loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Jackson Road Baptist Church. He attended Center Hill Baptist Church for many years as well. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Petty of Union; daughters, Mary James (Joey) of Union, Tammy Danna (Billy) of Huntsville, TX, Jennifer Petty of Madison, MS., and Traci Walker of Philadelphia, MS.; son, Scotty Petty (April) of Union, Sister-in-Law, Jean Bradford; sisters, Shirley Buckley of Meridian, Evelyn Moore, Carolyn Copeland of DeKalb; brothers, Billy Anthony and Shelby Anthony of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Eleven Grandchildren and Twenty-eight Great Grandchildren. Mr. Petty was preceded in death by his parents, James Earl Petty and Maxine Townsend; brothers, Bobby, Otha, and Oliver Anthony; sisters, Betty Sue Petty and Grace Pilgrim.
