Mrs. Estelle Fowler, a beloved native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County, passed away surrounded by her family. She was a proud graduate of House School, where she excelled as the salutatorian and earned all-state basketball honors. Estelle began her career at Wells-Lamont Glove Factory and later became a supervisor at the Eupora plant, where she dedicated 20 years of service. In 1969, she and her husband, Lamar, relocated to Brownsville, TN, following his transfer to the Wells-Lamont plant. They returned to their cherished home in Philadelphia in 1984.
Estelle devoted much of her time to community service, particularly through her involvement with the GFWC-Futura Club. She participated in the Crayola Dream Makers program, where she worked with elementary students in both Philadelphia and Neshoba Central school systems. Her contributions included two art pieces displayed at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C.
A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Estelle served as a Ball decorating chairman and was an active participant in a WMU Circle. Her love for gardening was evident in her beautiful flower gardens, and she cherished the moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Estelle is survived by her daughter, Becky Fowler; grandsons, Jason (Amber) Russell and Derek (Samantha) Russell; great-grandsons, Logan, Sean, Loren, and Lawsen Russell; her sister, Alice Todd; lifelong friend, Geraldine Watson; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Fowler; great-granddaughters, Aubrey and Ava Russell; her parents, I. D. "Bum" and Ruby Sharp; sisters, Mauvene Thomas, Martha Pearson, and Freda Goodman; and brothers, Kermit Sharp, Richard Sharp, Irvin Sharp, and Bobby Glen Sharp.
