Glenda H. Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience.
She was born in Bealeton, Virginia, and attended Bealeton High School. Growing up on a dairy farm with her three sisters and one brother, Glenda cherished her roots and the values instilled in her during those formative years. Before her marriage to Jimmie D. Edwards, Glenda worked at the Pentagon Bank, and after moving to Mississippi, she continued her career at Nemanco, A&P, Jitney Jungle, and Vowell Grocery. Glenda was passionate about life, spending her weekends fishing with her husband Jimmie and traveling whenever she had the chance. In her retirement, she would often return to Virginia to spend summers with her siblings and looked forward to cherished moments with her granddaughters, Meredith and Amelia.
She is survived by her children, Chris "Cissie" Edwards and Thomas Lee Edwards (Christie); her sisters, Geralene Clopton Marsh (Jerry) and Nancy Clopton Carter (George); and her brother, Howard Clopton Sr. (Mary). Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie D. Edwards; her parents, John and Mattie Fisher Clopton; her sister, Doris Summers; and her brother-in-law, Benjamin Marsh.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to her nephew, Danny Summers, for his unwavering support, and to the staff at Neshoba Nursing Home, particularly Faith, for the compassionate care provided to their beloved mother.
Glenda’s spirit and love will live on in the lives she touched, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
