Funeral services for Henry Douglas Drury will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Funeral Home with Bro. Joshua Drury and Bro. Dwight Fleming officiating. Interment will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery (Winston County). Visitation will be held Monday, August 11, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays.
Douglas Drury was born and raised in Winston County to Henry and Nona Drury. He attended Arlington schools. Douglas was employed at Taylor Machine for 30 plus years in Research and Development. After retiring from Taylor Machine, Douglas loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, and making turkey calls. He was a longtime member of Plattsburg Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School. He loved the Lord and would be glad to tell you about it. Douglas loved his family immensely, he will be missed by all.
Mr. Drury is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jo Merle Drury; daughter, Rhonda Drury; son, Mark Drury (Debra); grandchildren, Kristan Drury Swearington, Coleman Lingerfelt, Jacob Drury, and Joshua Drury; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mavis Eakes, Linda Fortune, Sherry Clay (Gene); brother, Jerry Drury (Pam). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Nona Drury; sisters, Bernice Sisson, Clytee Manning, Patsy Drury, Shirley Drury, Janice Drury; brothers, Travis Drury, and Joe Mack Drury.
Pallbearers will be Glen Sisson, Greg Sisson, Tucker Estes, Youn Drury, Ken Drury and Jr. Bell
Honorary Pallbearers will be will be Cole Lingerfelt, Jacob Drury, Jeff Fortune and Chad Fortune.
In lieu of flowers the family requests all memorials be made to Gideons International.
