Services for Hilda Faye Jones Schitoskey will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Curt Pace officiating. Burial will follow in Plattsburg Cemetery in Winston County. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of service. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Schitoskey, 80, of Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at her home. She was a native of the Arlington Community of Neshoba County where she attended school until the fourth grade, and then transferred to Philadelphia. Her family then moved to Hollandale, MS, where she graduated from Anguilla High School. She married shortly after high school and moved to California to pursue a career in modeling and acting. After having her first child, her career took a backseat to be a mother. Later, after marrying her second husband, she had two more children and developed a multifaceted career, which included banking, management, and social services. She was a pioneer for women’s rights in the workplace; and had the opportunity to travel the world with her husband who was career Navy. Later in life she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and subsequently retired back home in Philadelphia. Mrs. Schitoskey is a member of the Plattsburg Baptist Church in Winston County. She is survived by her oldest son, Mike Russell (Brenda) of Starkville; second son, David Schitoskey (Syble) of Philadelphia; daughter, Sherry Wade (Jimmy) of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren, Mike West, Suzanne West, Arin Lilevjen, Candace Wade, Jonathan Wade, Brian Mitchell, Christy Hammann and Steven Doktor; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Meyers of Philadelphia; two brothers, Stanley Jones (Pat) of Greenville, Charles Jones of Eldorado, KS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Schitoskey was preceded in death by her husband Hubert “Ski” Schitoskey, Jr.; three brothers, Jim, Sam, and Rayford Jones.
