James "Pop" Griffin

A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. from Blackjack Cemetery in Philadelphia with Bro. Paul Blanchard officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Griffin, 81, of Louisville, died Friday, April 28, 2023, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. A native of Zephyr Hill Community in Neshoba County, he was a resident of Louisville for the past 52 years. He was owner of North Church Chevron (aka Pop’s) for 37 years until he retired. Working was his hobby; and he enjoyed helping others whenever he could. Survivors include his sons, David Griffin (Lisa) of Preston and Danny Griffin (Melanie) of Louisville; grandchildren, Wilson Henderson Griffin of Preston and David Ethan Griffin (Hannah) of Lena; a niece and nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Myrna Griffin; and brother, Larry Griffin. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to be made to St. Jude.
