Funeral services for Jerry W. Joyner will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Embrey and Rev. James Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, February 23, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and 30 minutes prior to service time at the church.

Jerry Walker Joyner - Born November 23, 1941 - Died February 20,2026 

Jerry Joyner passed away peacefully after a brief  illness on February 20,2026 at the home of his son, Scott Joyner.

Jerry Joyner was born November 23, 1941 to Walker Langdon Joyner and Lora Belle Reynolds Joyner.

He attended House School and graduated from Neshoba County High School in 1959.

He worked with Koeler, Pepsi Cola, and Roadway where he later retired. Jerry loved watching sports. He especially loved following his children, Laura and Scott Joyner, in all their years playing basketball. He loved watching the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tv shows of old Westerns.  He enjoyed working in his garden each year. He and his wife, Nancy, loved their church, Antioch Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and on various committees for many years.

Jerry was the world's best Papaw - quick to give out a piece of candy, Cheetos, or Little Debbie snacks to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He leaves behind so many memories filled with love and laughter and will be greatly missed everyday. 

Jerry was married for 60 years to Nancy Louise Sharp on November 7, 1964. He is survived by: Daughter Laura(Nathan) Davis; Son Scott(Jodie) Joyner; Grandchildren, Keely(Trent) Bergeron, Tory Davis(Michael), Walker Joyner, and Chase Joyner.; Great Grandchildren, Lilah Wallace, Rowan Perdue, Jack Bergeron, and Piper Bergeron; Brother James Lloyd Joyner.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Sharp Joyner; Parents, Walker and Lora Belle Joyner; Sisters Mary Ann Smith, Jeanette Wall, and Marjorie Stallings.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Smith, Walker Joyner, Chase Joyner, Dale Yokum, Kevin Neihous, Shawn Tubbs, Lane Young, and Logan Young.
