Kenneth Mitchell Bounds

Funeral services for Kenneth Mitchell Bounds will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Linwood Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bounds, 78, of Neshoba County died Monday, January 12, 2026 at the MS. State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.

Mitchell was born and raised in Neshoba County and attended Linwood School and graduated from Neshoba Central in 1965. He attended ECJC and later graduated from Delta State University with an Education Degree. Mitchell served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a Food Service Director for 30 years at Neshoba Central Elementary School. He was a friend to all and would help anyone in need and he will be missed. Mr. Bounds was a member of Linwood Baptist and had served in several capacities.

Survivors include sisters, Janice Sistrunk (Glen) of Philadelphia and Judy Jones of Brandon, MS; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and their families and numerous friends.

Mr. Bounds was preceded in death by parents, Oliver and Annie Lois Bounds; brother-in-law, Steve Jones.

Pallbearers: Jamie Shotts, Lannie Windham, Devin Nelson, Gabe Jones, Chris Jones and Jeremy Jones.

In lieu of flowers family requests all Memorials be made to Linwood Baptist Church Building Fund.
