Linda Jane Watkins

Funeral Services for Linda Jane Watkins will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. David Richardson and Bro. Chris Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Stephenstown Community. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watkins, 80, of Neshoba County passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at JG Alexander Nursing Center

Linda was native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and attended and graduated from Neshoba Central School. She loved to cook, do crafts and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil. She worked at Midland Shirt Company, Garan’s and retired from Neshoba General Nursing Home as a CNA. Mrs. Watkins was a longtime member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Stephenstown Community. She dearly loved her family and will be surely missed.

Survivors include daughter, LeAnn McElhenney (Ricky) of Decatur; grandchildren; John Andrew McElhenney and Megan Barnhill (Kenneth); great-grandchildren, Carter, Caleb and Hunter Gibbs and Noah Barnhill; sisters, Lessie Chunn and Bessie Ford; a host of nieces, nephews and their families.

Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Watkins; parents, Pete and Minnie Rucker; sisters, Bertha Lee Rucker, Thelma Dean Gill, Mattie Lou Creighton, Bonnie Rucker and Martha Marsh.

Pallbearers: Tony Gill, David Speed, Kenneth Barnhill, Howard Holland, Johnny Cutrer and Ike Barrier.
