Lynda Powers King

Services for Lynda Powers King will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, January 11, 2026 from First Pentecostal Church in Philadelphia with Rev. Dennis Davis, Rev. Billy Sanders, Rev. Tim Vowell and Rev. Greg Powers officiating. Burial to follow in King Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until service time on Sunday at the church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lynda Powers King, 79, of Carthage, Mississippi passed away on January 9th, 2026 in Carthage, Mississippi.

Lynda was  born on December 12, 1946 and was a member of Edinburg United Pentecostal Church. She was a pastor’s wife and served as a Ladies’ Ministries Director. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Harvey King; her parents, Loman and Letha Powers; brothers, Richard Powers, Bill Powers, Doyle Lee Powers, and Johnny Powers; and her sister, Betty Lou Powers.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Davis (Dennis), Keith King (Mistie), and Melissa Martin (Tony); her siblings, Suzie Tharpe, Paul Powers, Bobby Powers, Jerry Powers, and Debbie Powers; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers:  Lane Martin, Dennon Davis, Brandon King, Kanon King, Austin Waddell, Tyler Stokes, Justin Powers and Bryan Powers.
