Funeral services for Mary "Maggie" Myers will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 7, 2026 at First Pentecostal Church with Rev. Tim Vowell, Rev. Albert Reid and Rev. Wesley Lovern officiating. Burial will follow at New Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and 9:00 am on Saturday until service time. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Maggie, age 93, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family.
On April 17, 1948, she married the love of her life, Leon Myers. They enjoyed 74 beautiful years together. They built a faith filled life along with their three children, Dianne, Larry and Debbie.
Maggie was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Philadelphia for over 43 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher and was active with the ladies’ group.
Maggie was well known for her humor and fun-loving nature. She was a hard worker. She worked at Midland Shirt Factory in Union, MS, then managed Midtown Quick Shop and Jr. Food Mart in Philadelphia, MS for several years. If you knew her, you know she loved her family and loved to shop and have fun.
Maggie’s memory will forever be cherished by her three children: Dianne Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN, Larry (Darlene) Myers of Philadelphia, MS and Debbie (Anthony) Price of Union, MS. She had six grandchildren: Greg (Vickie) Taylor of Murfreesboro, TN; Amanda (Darryl) Davis of Winchester, TN; Barry (Beth Ann) Ward of Collinsville, MS; Lee (Jessica) Myers of Philadelphia, MS; Nickie (Anthony) Lovern of Union, MS; and Melissa (Ken) Shackelford of Union, MS. Maggie had seventeen great grandchildren; Chris (Matt) Brum-Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Hannah (Dustin) Smith, Miriam Comans, Garrett (Skyler) Myers, Chase Taylor, Eli Ward, Rope Lovern, Riley Davis, Riley Myers, Chloe Davis, Ethan Ferguson, Marleigh Myers, Noah Ferguson, Luke Davis, Aspen Lovern, and Kase Ward. She had seven great, great grandchildren; Brooklyn Taylor, Collin Comans, Charlotte Brum-Taylor, Addi Comans, Everly Myers, Sawyer and Sadie Smith.
She is also survived by her sister, Laverne Rebolj and a host of nieces and nephews.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Myers; her parents, Lum Gentry and Vallie and Leon Collins; her brother Lavon Collins; and Earl Taylor, Son in Law.
Pallbearers will be Eli Ward, Garrett Myers, Riley Myers, Ethan Ferguson, Rope Lovern, and Tyler Pope.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Riley Davis, Luke Davis, Noah Ferguson, Kase Ward, Chris Taylor.
