Peggy O'Neal Perryman

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 23, 2025 from Vahalla Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Rev. John Churchill will officiate.

Peggy Perryman, a beloved native and longtime resident of Bessemer, AL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. A proud graduate of Bessemer High School, Peggy married shortly after graduation and dedicated her life to her family and faith. For a brief period, she resided in Philadelphia, MS, but her heart remained in Bessemer. Peggy was an active member of Grace Christian Church in Helena, AL, where she cherished her church and the bonds formed within her church family.

Peggy's love for her family was evident in everything she did. She spent quality time with her son, Stephen (Lynn) Perryman, and relished in the joys of being a grandmother to Stephanie (Zach) Tanksley and Matthew (Diana) Perryman. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Elise and Lara Perryman. In addition to her immediate family, Peggy is survived by her sister, Barbara Murphy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Richard Alva Perryman, her son, Michael Keith Perryman, and her brother, Gyle Edward O'Neal.

Her kindness, warmth, and passion for life will be remembered by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, honoring the legacy she leaves behind.
