Phyllis Goodin Counts

Graveside services for Phyllis Goodin Counts will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 11 am from Coy Community Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 4, 2023 from 5pm until 7 pm at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Ms. Counts, 66 of Preston, MS, died Thursday, August 31, 2023. Phyllis was born and raised in Kemper County, MS and attended Lynville School. She lived in Pensacola for a short while and has been living in Kemper County for the last 30 years. She was employed with Wal-Mart in Philadelphia for five years. She loved watching wrestling, riding horses, fishing and spending time with her family. Ms. Counts was of the Christian Faith. Survivors include her son, Robert Pitts of Preston, MS; grandchildren, Heather Pitts (Michael Valverde) of Preston, MS, Winter Counts of Preston, MS and Daniel Counts of Meridian, MS; great-grandchild, Harper Moore of Preston MS. MS. Counts is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Counts; daughter, Lori Douglas; infant grandson, Michael; parents, James Wilbur and Ada Fay Goodin; one brother and one sister.
