Rodney Hendon

Services for Rodney Levon Hendon will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Tyler Tingle officiating. Burial will follow in Redeemer Baptist Cemetery in Neshoba County.  Visitation will be held Monday, November 12, 2018, from 5 p.m. until  8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hendon, 70, of Philadelphia, died Friday, November 9, 2018, at Anderson Regional Hospital in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County.  He retired from the Philadelphia Fire Department as a captain after 21 years of service.  He served in the U. S. Air Force.  Mr. Hendon was a member of Redeemer Baptist Church. Survivors include wife of 34 years, Demaries “Cookie” Hendon of Philadelphia; daughters, Jennifer Wilkerson (Ricky) of Laurel, Robin Dean (David) of Brandon; son, Scotty Hendon (Tabitha) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Nicholas Dean, Alyssa Dean, Dylan Dean, Serinity Hendon and Konnar Hendon; stepdaughter, Sonia Stenzel (Terry) of Brandon; stepson, Wayne Williams (Lori) of Philadelphia; step-grandchildren, Heather Kenney (David), Demi Davenport (Dustin), Kyndall Rushing (Justin); Kimber Williams, Mackenzie Ingram (Grey); nine step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Ellinburg, Judy Sullivan (Morris), and Deborah Bridges, all of Philadelphia; brother, Lonnie C. Hendon of Columbia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Hendon was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Selita Williams; sister, June Jones; brother, Donnie Hendon; and parents, W. T. and Earline Hendon.
