Sheila Stubbs Adam

Funeral Services for Sheila Stubbs Adam will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 26, 2026, from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. David Richardson and Col. Walter Beamon officiating. Interment to follow in the Stubbs Family Plot in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2026 until service time. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sheila Stubbs Adam was born to Leota Taylor Stubbs and Bloxum Howard Stubbs on December 29, 1938. She was the first born of twins, followed minutes later by her brother, Steven Howard Stubbs. She was a proud native of Neshoba County, and graduated from Philadelphia High School in the outstanding class of 1956. She attended Mississippi University of Women (The W) and the University of Southern Mississippi.

Sheila was well known in the beauty pageant circles, wearing beautiful gowns created for her by her mother, participated in and won them all, beginning with Miss Neshoba County in 1954. After college, Sheila married Glen McDonald, and they welcomed a daughter Felecia, in 1960 in Pensacola, Florida. Later, she married Bob Steadman, and together they had a daughter, Sabrina, in 1963. In 1976 she met the love of her life, Albert C. (A.C.) Adam, and they married in 1978, sharing a devoted partnership for the rest of her days.

Sheila became a certified Master Gardner and enjoyed raising vegetables, especially tomatoes. She also became a fabulous cook, creating her own version of recipes that became “Sheila’s World Famous” whatever. Her pantry consisted of every spice and condiment imaginable. Sheila started and ran a successful database management company until 1985 when she retired.

Survivors include her devoted husband, A.C. Adam; daughters, Felecia Wynn and Sabrina Loria (Sam); stepsons, Paul Adam (Patricia) and Geoffrey Adam (Kerrie); daughter-in-law, Ruth Adam; grandchildren, Lauren (Dakota), Mason, Lana Loria, Taylor Adam, Ashley Adam and Jacob Adam; great grandchildren, Boone Mason, Raven and Killian Adam; sisters-in-law, Ann Gipson Stubbs and Lisa Baker; brothers-in-law, Mark Baker (Jody) and Eric Adam; Aunt Pat Williams Stubbs; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Adam was preceded in death by her parents, twin brother; stepson, David Adam; first cousins, Sandra Dabbs Rogers and David Dabbs; son-in-law, Dean Wynn.
