Funeral services for Sheldon Fox will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Donal Grimes and Bro. Michael Jernigan, and Bro. Rob Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 9 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays funeral Home.
Mr. Fox, 76, of Amory MS, passed away at home on Monday, July 21, 2025.
Sheldon was born at home in Kemper County to Paul Harvey and Annie Florence Fox. He attended and graduated from Lynville School. He was employed by Weyerhaeuser for 38 years as a fork lift driver. Sheldon was known as a workaholic and he loved to garden, riding on his tractor and spending time with family. Mr. Fox was a member of The Church of God at Athens in Monroe County, MS, where he served as pastor for 3 years and deacon for many years in The Church of God. He will be remembered for having a servant’s heart and will be missed by his many friends and family.
Survivors include wife of 54 years, Gloria Fox of Amory; daughter, Denise Williams (Steven) of Caledonia; grandchildren, Kayla McDaniel (Josh), Lucky Kern (Justin), Mackenzie Vinzant (Bailey), Aubrey Stewart, Jerrad Fox, Marcus Fox, Jacob Williams, Lucas Williams, (Alana), Noah Williams, Austin Stewart, Kaleb Williams and Micah Williams; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Gail Hailey (Tony) of Little Rock, MS; special cousin, Jerry Nell Dubard; several nieces, nephews and their families.
Mr. Fox is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Harvey and Annie Florence Fox; daughter, Gidgett Stewart; son, Andy Fox; brother Paulette Fox.
