Funeral Services for Jack McKee will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm from Big Oak Church with Bro. Alex George officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 1:00 pm until service time at Big Oak Church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McKee passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Jack was born on April 15, 1932 in Kemper County, MS. He served in the army two years and was stationed in Virginia Beach, VA, after the army he came back to Kemper County and lived the rest of his life here. He was self employed in the logging business and he worked for the Kemper County District 3 Road Department for 10 years. Mr. McKee was a member of Big Oak Church. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren; Our daddy and papa will be loved, remembered and missed always.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Mrs. Betty Jean Parker McKee; children, Debbie Myers (Billy), Jackie McKee, Marty McKee and Joy Watson (Robert); grandchildren, Trent Myers (Hailey), Libby Myers Whitaker (Wade), Taylor McKee Allen (Johnny), Maggie McKee Hall (Hunter), Hailey McKee Johnson (Matt), Drew Watson (Katie) and Abby Watson; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many treasured friends.
Mr. McKee was preceded in death by his grandson, Tanner McKee Watson; parents, George Lecester McKee and Annie Katherine George McKee; brothers, Joe and Mike McKee; sisters, Sara Smith (James), Katherine Pilgrim (John) and Annie Mae Stovall (Prentiss); daughter-in- law, Sissy McKee.
Pallbearers: Trent Myers, Drew Watson, Hunter Hall, Johnny Allen, Wade Whitaker and Matt Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests memorials be made to the Big Oak Cemetery Fund in memory of Mr. Jack.
