Services for Sara Ernestine "Tina" King will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Young officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and on Tuesday for 1 hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Sara Ernestine “Tina” King was born on January 9, 1928, in Okolona, MS, to Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Ritter. She graduated from Okolona High School and attended MSCW and Millsaps College. On January 30, 1949, she married Allan King of Philadelphia where they made their home and raised their family. Tina enjoyed spending time with family, the Neshoba County Fair, attending athletic events, traveling, and playing Bridge with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Jimmy) Briscoe of Jackson; two sons, Hub (Nancy)King of Starkville and Andy (Susan) King of Philadelphia. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Jeff (Stevanie) King of Starkville, Will (Paige) King of Oxford, Ross (Elizabeth) King of Houston, Texas, Caroline (Miles) Forks of Oxford, Leigh Allyn (Wade) White of Philadelphia and David King of Philadelphia; great-grandchildren include Anne Audrey King, Davis Allan King, Catherine Elise King, Claire Posey King, Audrey Leigh White and Luke Anderson White; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Dixon.Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Philadelphia, French Camp Academy, or a favorite charity.
