CLAY WINSTEADWillis H. White passed December 23, 2017, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1930, a lifelong resident of Neshoba County.Willis was a loving and supportive Christian father and husband. He was a faithful member of Coldwater Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He has also served as a Sunday School /Church Training Director, treasurer, teacher, choir member, Bible Drill Leader, and served on various committees. Willis also considered himself as part of Trinity Baptist Church’s family. The more recent years allowed him to be a part of this family as he faithfully attended on Sunday and Wednesday night as a closer haven to worship. He valued his friends and memories made at both theses churches.Willis honorably served in the U. S. Army where he was stationed in Korea. Upon returning, he married the love of his life, Catherine and a few years later extended his family adding two daughters. His work life began at Wells-Lamont. He later was employed at U. S. Motors in Philadelphia. Upon retirement, he enjoyed time spent gardening both vegetables and flowers. He also treasured time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He volunteered at the Neshoba County Nursing Home. He enjoyed singing with local churches there, at Choctaw Residential Center, and at Bee Hive and Atwood.Willis was active with the Masons, Shriners, Woodman and American Legion. He considered it an honor to serve.Survivors include two daughters, Pam Shipley of Hattiesburg; Deborah (Randy) Ladd of Philadelphia; one granddaughter, Allison Willis; two great-granddaughters, Halli Willis and Bri Peters; one sister, Mildred Moore and a host of nieces, nephews and their families.Willis was preceded in death by his wife Catherine; parents, George W. and Emma White; brothers, Jessie J. “Jim”, George Jr. and Rudolph; sisters, Billie Posey, Lexie Fleming, Inez Savell, Etta Francis Marshall and a grandson, Josh Ladd.Honorary pallbearers will be Masons, Shriners, Woodman and American Legion personnel.
